Abrohlos #3

132cm x 119cm x 3cm

Layered pure 100% silk, 24K gold, resin, and sand from the West Coast of Australia, mounted on acrylic.

ABROHLOS - [Portuguese] – meaning “Keep your eyes open’’

The shape of the painting was inspired by the aerial view of Abrohlos islands. In the Indian Ocean, about sixty kilometers west of Geraldton, Western Australia, is the southernmost true coral reef and one of the highest latitude reef systems in the world.

Tranquil, unspoiled, and as close to the natural coastal world as you can get, Abrohlos is an exclusive getaway for exploring the uniqueness of Western Australia.

The deep blue of ABROHLOS connects you to the true essence of the depth of the ocean, where light waves playfully represent our inner child to remind us that - joy is true success.

ABROHLOS is striking from a distance and allures the viewer to come closer and enjoy all the little details. ABROHLOS was created to captivate the presence of the moment. With contrasting textures of the white sandstone and shining elements of 24K gold, the blue ocean comes to life in the moment of being in front of ABROHLOS.
